Arctic Monkeys

The Arctic Monkeys, at the moment are one of the biggest bands in the world. They started off as a group of 4 teenagers from Sheffield in 2002 but didn’t get signed by an actual record label in 2005 after playing Reading & Leads festival, their debut album “Whatever people say I am that’s what I’m not.” Came in 2006 and was the fastest selling British album of all time, it received a Mercury prize and NME called it the 5^th best British album of all time.

Their Second album came out a year later, “Favourite worst nightmare.” Their first two albums went straight to number one in the UK.

The third album came out in 2009, “Humbug” at the time it was a very different sound for them. Personally I didn’t like it as much as the first 2 albums initially but now I’ve grown to love it.

The 4^th album sounded a lot like the 3^rd, it was called “Suck It And See” and it was a lot more mature sounding album to the first two albums.    

The 5^th and most Recent album “AM” is my personal favourite. This also went in at number 1 in the UK charts. Arctic Monkeys had made history to be the first band signed to an independent record label to release 5 consecutive number 1 albums.
