Georgetown

Football has always been my favourite sport, as I have mentioned I now play for The University, but before I came to uni I Played for Georgetown from the age of 7 up until I was 18. My first strong memory of playing for Georgetown was when I played in the Welsh under 8’s 5 aside tournament in The Millennium Stadium in 2002. We had won a 5 aside tournament in Merthyr and we had qualified for the next round. We won the tournament and went to play in a tournament in London but we didn’t win that, it was on a Sunday league pitch so was a tad anti-climactic after playing at the millennium stadium.

            We won the Merthyr league pretty much every year since, u12’s, u14’s and u16’s. after u16’s we went to play in the south welsh league at under 18’s level, our first year of u18’s we finished second in the league and runners up in the south wales u18 cup. The second year of u18’s we won the league and we won the cup. I miss playing for Georgetown but I’m still good friends with most of the players I played with for the 11 years I spent at the club.
